Simmilar to it's sister island Koh Tao, this island was a while ago at the beginning discovered by tourists searching a sanctuary from the overcrowded Samui and recently, the island offers a large number of options for activities, bars and clubs, bungalow resorts and spas. The cheapest way to travel from BKK to Phangan would be to get a joint ticket from Songserm Travel for boats and express boats, bus, train, airplanes to the island. Or you can fly an 1 hr. flight operated by Bangkok Airways 6 times a day from Bangkok to Samui and take the catamaran boat to Phangan.
